Anne Nicolas has announced the availability of the second alpha release of Mageia 1, a new distribution created by former developers and contributors to Mandriva Linux: "As
outlined in the Mageia roadmap, here comes 'Primavera', the second
alpha release. Again, this has been a very busy month: our build system
is now running fully and the list of supported software has grown to
over 6,100 source RPMS, including full integration of LibreOffice and
Eclipse, RPM 4.8.1 and KDE 4.6.1. Now we need you for tests! Alpha 2 is
available through two DVDs in 32-bit and 64-bit flavours. You can also
find a dual CD ISO image, including both 32-bit and 64-bit architecture
