FreeNAS是一份基于FreeBSD的小型操作系统,它提供免费的网络附加存储(NAS)服务(CIFS、FTP、NFS)。 Josh Paetzel has announced the availability of the first release candidate for FreeNAS 8.0, a tiny FreeBSD-based operating system which provides free Network-Attached Storage (NAS) services: "I am pleased to announce the availability of the first FreeNAS 8.0 release candidate. More than just a huge jump in version number, FreeNAS 8.0 blends FreeBSD 8.x technology, production-ready ZFS, and a web-based GUI with x86/amd64 hardware to make a NAS device available with a lower barrier to entry. This RC provides a number of enhancements over previous beta snapshots that have been released. The show all volumes screen shows volume status if it is a RAID device. The volume wizard allows for creating ZFS volumes with cache, log, or spare devices. Email to 'root', which includes the daily status and security run reports is now aliased to the email address provided for the GUI admin user."
