Michael K. Johnson has announced the third alpha release of rPath Linux 2, an independent distribution with a unique software management infrastructure: "The third development snapshot in the rPath Linux 2 Alpha release process has been made available. Most of the software included in the distribution has been updated, and it has been completely rebuilt from source since the second development snapshot. This includes latest X from X.Org and latest GNOME. It also changes the way that Python was built; unfortunately, this makes it hard to update from alpha2.
