Released to commemorate today's worldwide Software Freedom Day, this is the project's first version that comes on two CDs - an installable live CD with essential applications and an optional CD with extra software packages. Some of the other changes from earlier betas: support for installing the system directly from the GRUB boot menu without having to boot into the live CD first; an option to create a bootable USB device from the live CD; new selection of applications, easier and more powerful; 3D desktop effects (where supported by the graphics card).
