Eddy Nigg has announced the first release candidate of StartCom MultiMedia Edition 5.0.6, a Linux distribution featuring a comprehensive collection of audio and video applications: "We are pleased to announce the release candidate of version 5.0.6 of StartCom MultiMedia Edition, code-named 'Kessem'. This is the first update of the ML-5 series which introduces a few changes and additions compared to the previous release. We invite anybody interested to install this test release and help us find eventual problems in this distribution prior to its official release. What's New? Included are the newest packages of OpenOffice.org version 2.3. We added VideoLAN and its VLC media player.
