General Summary:

 

This position is responsible for providing leadership, accountability and direction for development and delivery of software/service specific solutions that anticipate, meet or exceed customer requirements.  Responsibilities include supporting and meeting company’s objectives for cost and quality in the development, deployment and life cycle management for both, domestic and international services for growth and expansion.  This position requires a high degree of experience and skill across several key disciplines, such as:  client/server applications, Web based applications, mainframe application systems, telecommunications and the cellular industry.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Direct designing, building, integrating and supporting software, hardware and network solutions to support current and new business initiatives

·         Direct the evaluation and implementation of long-term technology direction

·         Direct the development of departmental objectives to achieve: maximum human and machine resources allocation/utilization, monitoring performance and taking corrective action when necessary

·         Provide technical leadership to the team based on solid hands-on experience in different technology areas

·         Coach Technology Managers and Engineers on areas such as: Continuous improvement, market focus, critical thinking, leadership, conflict management, project management, development methodologies and budget management

·         Responsible for providing Direction to Technology Managers and Technology Engineers to incorporate and establish software best practices into the delivery cycle

·         Responsible for creating and managing a budget based on Business drivers and company policies and procedures

·         Responsible for overseeing Vendor Management activities such as: Developing and submitting SOW as required, Purchase requisitions

·         Responsible for customer interaction/support, particularly for those in India and AP Region.

 

Job Requirements:

 

·         Required Technical Skills

o    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

o    12+ years general technology experience including:

o    8+ years experience large scale product development and support environment, Systems and Application Architecture, utilizing various Hardware and operating  Systems components; Implementation and network Engineering

o    Extensive Experience working in telecommunications and wireless industry knowledge

o    Extensive Experience working with third party vendor tools (e.g. monitoring, scalability, performance tuning)

o    Extensive experience in software design processes and methods

o    Strong analytical and problem solving skills

o    Experience using a source code management tool

o    Statistical and benchmark testing experience

o    Extensive experience designing, developing, implementing and supporting  applications on at least two of the following Operating Systems: UNIX, MVS, Window, Tandem.

o    Extensive experience in applications with heavy RDBMS interaction

·         Required Interpersonal Skills

o    Strong analytical, business logic and problem resolution skills

o    Strong oral and written communication skills

o    Strong control and follow-up skills

o    Strong leadership skills

o    Solid decision making skills

o    Strong conflict resolutions skills

·         Supervisory Skills

o    Minimum 8 years of Supervisory experience in successfully managing multiple product/applications with at least 30 team members

o    Thorough knowledge and understanding of HR policies and procedures

o    Thorough knowledge and understanding of Procurement policies and procedures

o    Extensive experience creating and administering Performance Evaluations

o    Experience with Performance Improvement Plans

o    Experience building teams - successfully

o    Solid decision making skills

·         Required Project Management Skills

o    Proficient in all aspect of Project Management

o    Create detailed project plans with execution of assigned project activities in accordance with project methodologies and practices

o    Manage end-to-end project execution and compliance by customer and company standards

o    Resource allocation and management

o    Estimate/Project risk analysis

o    Identification of task and associated hours

o    Progress tracking for projects/tasks

o    Contractor management
